The Stars of Twin Peaks reflect on the seminal show's 25-year legacy: Watch!

Fans of the original Twin Peaks have waited more than 25 years to find out what happened to the residents of the mysterious little town with a big secret. And now, the critically-acclaimed TV show returns with an 18-part limited series event airing on Stan beginning Monday, May 22.

Twin Peaks co-creators Mark Frost and David Lynch (Lynch also directed the influential series), both returned for the revival and went through extraordinary lengths to keep plot details under wraps.

In fact, as The FIX learned at the Twin Peaks world premiere in Los Angeles on May 19, the entire cast was sworn to secrecy. Familiar faces from the original series and newcomers did, however, share their take on the show's outstanding 25-year legacy.

And speaking of the cast, the new limited series is an A-list roundup (though their roles have not been revealed) that includes Naomi Watts (King Kong), Laura Dern (Big Little Lies), Jim Belushi (According to Jim), Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!), Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother), and many more.

If you need to catch up, here's a quick primer: the original Twin Peaks TV series aired for two seasons between 1990 and 1991. The story focused on the shocking murder of teen prom queen Laura Palmer (Riverdale's Mädchen Amick). FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Sex and the City's Kyle MacLachlan) is assigned to find her killer, and things spiral into a riveting who-done-it murder mystery with an eerie twist.

The show, as well as director David Lynch, is credited for setting the groundwork for paranormal TV dramas like The X-Files, Lost, and True Detective, to name a few.

Two prequels, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1992) and Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces (2014), followed after the original series went off air in 1991, but now is the first time fans will get a look into what's happened 25 years after the Laura Palmer was murdered.
