Aussie singer-songwriter Tones and I announces engagement to Jimmy Bedford

Tones and I is engaged!

The Australian singer-songwriter, who rose to fame across the globe with her 2019 breakout single 'Dance Monkey,' shared the happy news on her Instagram page yesterday.

Showing off a large ring on her hand as she kissed her new fiancé Jimmy Bedford, the songstress — whose real name is Toni Watson — simply captioned the post with a diamond ring emoji.

Bedford, meanwhile, shared an announcement of his own to Instagram, writing alongside the same image of the happy couple: "2021 was a tough year for everyone but I ended mine with a yes, can't wait for my best friend to be my wife. 💁‍♂️ 💍"

His post also included a close-up shot of what appears to be the words "Will you marry me?" tattooed on a body.

The duo have been together for two years, with Watson — who is notoriously tight-lipped about her love life — giving a rare comment about her then-18-month-long relationship to The Kyle and Jackie O Show in July last year.

"I have actually been with my partner for a year and a half now. It's going so well. He's just the perfect person for me," Watson told the show at the time.

"He was a brickie [bricklayer], and now he's my stage tech. In the last year and a half, he's gone to university, studied, got his Bachelors.

"He comes on tour with me as my stage tech. He lives with us. He plays footy for Frankston Bombers. He's my best friend, he's hilarious."

Tones and I is currently performing a number of busking shows along Australia's east coast, with plans to stop at St Kilda, Geelong, Albury, Canverra, Sydney, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay in the next week.

She also plans to stop her tour at Cairns, Brisbane, Burleigh Heads, Lower Beechmont, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Airlie Beach, Townsville, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth.
