It’s a rough day to be Tom Holland. The A-list actor made headlines, not for his starring role in The Odyssey or his upcoming fourth turn as Spider-Man, but instead for vomiting during an interview.

Holland, 30, recently appeared on Hot Ones alongside The Odyssey co-star Jon Bernthal, where, after eating several wings gradually increasing in spice level, he couldn’t keep it down any longer.

Throughout the interview, Holland had clearly been struggling with the spice level, reaching his limit as the pair neared the end.

After the end of the interview, the YouTube clip cut to Bernthal and Holland alongside host Sean Evans as they posed for promo and introductory shots after having eaten the wings.

Then, Holland began coughing uncontrollably before bending over to vomit.

He shot right back up and began to laugh as Bernthal, not only a co-star but a close friend of Holland’s, began to clap and cheer, shouting, “Let’s go! Let’s go! Take a picture of it!”

Laughing it off, Holland told the crew behind the camera that they could keep the shot in the video, proudly announcing that he didn’t get anything on his Louis Vuitton outfit.

According to Evans, Holland is the first Hot Ones guest to ever vomit on camera.

“I love being the first,” Holland joked.

For those following Holland’s press tour for The Odyssey, his accident on Hot Ones didn’t come as a shock after he had previously revealed what happened during The New York TimesPizza interview alongside co-star Matt Damon earlier in July.

“Jon Bernthal and I did Hot Ones the other day. I fully vomited on camera,” he shared.

“Full-time. Like, I’m standing there. We’re laughing, having a good time and I [vomited].

“And it was also pure milk. Because I’d been nailing the milk.”

Damon reassured Holland by explaining he, too, had vomited after his appearance on Hot Ones, although it was thankfully off-camera.

Hot Ones is a celebrity interview series that sees stars sit down with Evans to eat 10 chicken wings dipped in increasingly spicy sauces, answering one question per wing.

The first few wings start relatively mild, around 2000 to 15,000 Scoville heat units (SHU); the mid-range wings go up to around 50,000 SHU, and often regarded as the turning point of the interview is Da Bomb at wing 7, sitting around 135,000 SHU.

From there, the wings just get worse, with the finale being The Last Dab, a custom-made sauce for the show that can push past two million SHU.
