The Bachelor Australia returned to screens last night with 28 new hopefuls looking to fall in love with this season's leading man, Matt Agnew.

It's been discovered that among the ladies is 34-year-old Danush Deravi, the sister of Michael Klim's ex-girlfriend, Desiree Deravi.

The Olympic swimmer began dating Desiree in 2016, shortly after his split with ex-wife Lindy Rama-Ellis. However, the gold medalist and fashion designer reportedly split in May before unfollowing each other on Instagram.

Although, Desiree did not find her ever after with the Olympian, she's hopeful Danush, a chartered accountant, will find love on The Bachelor.

"I am beyond proud of your journey and growth, for your courage to choose this path deciding to take a leap of faith leaving your professional job in the wish to find love," Desiree captioned a photo of her sister on the show. "Not everyone could do this and let alone in a public forum, you are a brave woman, I salute you!"

And if it doesn't work out with astrophysicist Matt, Desiree is proud of Danush, regardless.

"I remember when you told me you had decided to try out for @thebachelorau I was cheering for you then and I'm cheering for you now," Desiree wrote. "Good luck on this journey looking forward to watching you, I know it will be with grace and integrity the way we were taught! You are beautiful, smart but most importantly you are kind! Love you."

But Danush will give it all she's got. The contestant even wore a red dress to meet her potential Mr Right because science told her so.

"Science shows men have deeper conversations with women wearing red dresses. Let's put that theory to the test," she wrote on Instagram on July 28.
