Thandiwe Newton shares photo from hospital after injuring her foot weeks after marriage breakdown
Actress Thandiwe Newton has revealed she was hospitalised after injuring her foot.
The 49-year-old shared the update from the emergency room, where she also watched a mother caring for her sick child in hospital.
"Witnessing tender moment between mother and son," Newton wrote before telling her followers she too was in the hospital. "In ER 'cause I got some stupid bit of glass in my foot … ouch though."

The hospitalisation comes weeks after the British actress abruptly quit the third Magic Mike movie, which was already 11 days into filming in London.
A source told Page Six at the time: "Thandiwe had been acting strange on set, she has been very highly strung … [it] caused so much disruption, it became clear she couldn't play the role. There is a lot going on in her personal life".
Days later, it was revealed Newton and her husband Ol Parker, had ended their 24-year marriage.

"Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros Pictures' Magic Mike's Last Dance to deal with family matters," a spokesperson said in a statement.
But it appears looking up for Newton is remaining positive in this challenging time. Just days before her hospital stay, she shared an uplifting message on Instagram alongside a photo of a succulent.
"A New Day / Ubuntu,' she wrote, with the latter word translating to "humanity" or "I am because we are".
