Shania Twain jokes about skipping Taylor Swift’s wedding for one of her exes

It’s been more than a week since the wedding of the century, when 1000 guests packed into Madison Square Gardens for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials.

But one person who wasn’t in New York City for the big day was Canadian country singer Shania Twain, who Swift has credited as a major influence and supporter of hers in the past.

Twain revealed she was invited but had to skip the nuptials, joking she picked one of Swift’s exes over the big day, as she performed with Harry Styles in London.

“Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding, and I couldn’t go because I was already committed to Harry’s shows,” Twain told Canadian entertainment show etalk.

The That Don’t Impress Me Much singer was performing as part of the former One Direction star’s record-breaking 12 nights at Wembley Stadium on his Together Together tour.

“It’s just kind of funny that it happened that way,” Twain said.

“I was already committed and I couldn’t go.”

When teased by the journalist about picking the ex over the bride, Twain played along before saying how much she wanted to have been there.

“No, but I mean I would have done anything to be at Taylor’s wedding,” she said, before doubling down.

“I would have done anything, and that would have been really lovely for me to be there but I was with Harry.”

When asked if Twain would sing at Styles’ wedding - the singer is reportedly engaged to actress Zoë Kravitz - the You’re Still The One songstress joked he’d have to book his wedding around her schedule.

“If Harry ever gets married and he wants me at his wedding then he’s going to have to ask me more in advance [than Taylor],” Twain said.

Kravitz, who is close friends with Swift and co-wrote her hit Lavender Haze, was at the wedding solo. Styles, who Swift dated in 2012 and 2013, was also reportedly invited but was unable to attend due to his tour dates.

Styles seemingly gave a nod to his famous ex on her big day while on stage, giving a surprise performance of Two Ghosts, a song believed to be about the end of their relationship.

While fans still wait on photos from Swift and Kelce’s big day on July 3, the Shake it Off singer’s brother-in-law Jason Kelce confirmed a speculated detail from the ceremony.

Jason and wife Kylie Kelce’s four daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 1, all served as flower girls for the big day.

“It was a special event for our entire family, and obviously my daughters are incredible,” Jason told the Reno Gazette Journal at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament on Sunday.

“They’re beautiful, they’re incredible personalities. And Travis and Taylor love them. So, very happy we were able to be a part of it. And more importantly, very happy for those two.

“It was an amazing day.”
