Harry Styles’s emotional tribute to One Direction at historic Wembley finale

Harry Styles record-breaking 12-night Wembley Stadium residency came to an end with an emotional tribute to his One Direction bandmates.

The singer, 32, choked back tears as he thanked bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and the late Liam Payne whose parents sat in the crowd.

“I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine... I want to thank Niall, Louis, Zayn, and my dear friend, Liam!” he said, his voice quivering with emotion.

“None of this would be possible... thank you so much... my friends and family, thank you.”

Liam Payne tragically died in October 2024 after falling from his hotel room in Argentina, with his death sending shockwaves around the world.

Styles’ Wembley record officially means he has set the record for most performances by any artist in a single year, beating out the likes of Coldplay (with a 10-show run) and Taylor Swift (with an eight-show run).

Styles’ sister Gemma also appeared on stage during his final show, congratulating him on his record-breaking Wembley shows in a rare speech.

“Seeing this incredible community that has formed around you is indescribable,” she said.

“I’m so proud of you... I’m proud of who you are, and who you allow other people to be.”

Styles is currently on his Together, Together 2026 world tour and is playing dates around the world until December.

Aussie fans will finally get a glimpse of all the action when the show comes to Melbourne and Sydney in November.

The tour is supporting his new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.

Styles made headlines in June when he collapsed on stage at Wembley after appearing to choke on water during London’s heatwave.

He was performing his his fan-favourite “whale” move, spitting water in the air, before coughing.

Styles stayed on the floor for a while, before getting back up and assuring his devoted fans that he was okay, before carrying on with the show.

The hitmaker, known for songs including As It Was and Watermelon Sugar, also been spotted running to shows in London, as his choice of commute.

He rose to fame in 2010 thanks to One Direction, with him and his bandmates being discovered on The X Factor UK.
