Taylor Swift confirms rumour the world is talking about with one move

After months of speculation, Taylor Swift has finally confirmed rumours that set the internet alight.

The Life of a Showgirl singer is releasing a new single, I Knew it, I Knew You, for Pixar’s latest film, Toy Story 5.

Swift confirmed the rumours with an Instagram post today, following days of cryptic clues scattered everywhere online and around the globe.

“It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠,” the post starts.

“You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will be yours on June 5th.”

Swift loves numerology, so of course the single for Toy Story 5 is coming out on the fifth day of the sixth month.

She continued the post with a sweet message about the original Toy Story film.

“I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5-year-old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,” Swift wrote.

“I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening.

“Sometimes you just know, right?”

Swift also posted a photo of her in the grass with tulips around her, starring directly at the camera.

Swift’s long-time friend and collaborator, Jack Antonoff, helped her produce the track.

Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton called the single “incredibly meaningful.”

“Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable.”

“The song is so deeply connected to ‘Toy Story.’ So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”

Hours before Swift made the announcement, her official website showed Toy Story character Jessie dancing on a roof, as well as a billboard exactly like the ones popping up across the globe this week.

Billboards featuring 13 animated clouds and the initials TS, in the classic Toy Story font, were spotted worldwide.

TS stands for Taylor Swift, and also Toy Story, with fans immediately making the connection.

Earlier this week, Swift also changed the background of the digital version of her album 1989 to feature 13 clouds instead of the original birds.

Pixar also got in on the Easter eggs, posting a video of Jessie dancing on Instagram with the caption: “She’s making those moves up as she goes,” referencing Swift’s earworm “Shake It Off.”

Toy Story 5 will see the original gang, including Buzz, Woody and Jessie, going up against technology.

The films synopsis on the Pixar website reads: “The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s, Toy Story 5, and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they’re introduced to what kids are obsessed with today....electronics!“
