Australian actress Tammin Sursok to play Turia Pitt in biopic
Tammin Sursok is set to play burns survivor Turia Pitt in an upcoming biopic, directed by her husband, Sean McEwen.
Sursok, 36, known for her roles on Home and Away and Pretty Little Liars, said she was inspired after watching Pitt's story on A Current Affair t her home in Los Angeles and suggested to her husband that they turn her story into a movie.
PItt, 32, was caught in a wildfire in 2011 whilst competing in an ultra marathon and suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body. Her recovery included countless surgeries and having to learn to walk again.

Sursok had suffered two miscarriages before the birth of her second daughter, and she told Stellar Magazine that hearing Pitt's journey made her want to be more resilient to the challenges that she was facing.
"I had a very tough time with my miscarriages," She told Stella. "I remember feeling so inspired by Turia and what she experienced. To be able to transcend that with grace and fortitude... And she has so much gratitude. I thought, 'I need to be more like her.'"
Sursok and McEwen are parents to Phoenix, six, and Lennon who will turn one next month.

The biopic will be filmed in Sydney, with production scheduled to begin in Sydney.
Pitt and her fiancée, Michael Hoskin, welcome their son Hakavai in December 2017 and announced in August that they are expecting their second child.
She told New Idea magazine in October that motherhood has "completely and irrevocably" changed her."
