Jericho Malabonga wins Australian Survivor

After 55 days in the Samoan jungle, Jericho Malabonga has won Australian Survivor, taking home $500,000.

The 25-year-old flight attended won the final immunity challenge against Tara Pitt and Peter Conte --- which saw the three contestants hold onto a pole on the water's edge in the freezing cold for hours.

After three hours, Tara let go first, followed by Peter two hours later.

Having won immunity, Jericho then had to pick who he would take the final Tribal Council.

"It’s not about who’s an easy win it’s more about who deserves to sit next to me and be in the final two," he said.

Ultimately he chose to take Tara with him. Jericho and Tara were then questioned by the jury about who deserved to win the prize money.

The Jury voted, and Jericho was crowned Australian Sole Survivor.

On Wednesday, he told Confidential that he doesn't know how he will spend his prize money.

"I think the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought in my entire life is a go-pro and that was like $400 dollars," he told the publication. "I’m still pinching myself. I'm still in shock, I haven't processed it yet. In a week or two I might be like, holy crap 'what just happened?'

And while Tara might not have won the game, she's a winner in the eyes of her kids.

"I’m pretty much Batman in my children’s eyes," the mother-of-three said last night. "I’m very much the show and tell in their class. At the end of the day if my family’s not upset or disappointed, I’m not."

The Queenslander said she played the best she could, and did far better than she could ever have expected.

"I came in hoping not to be the first one booted and I didn't even get my torch snuffed so I’m pretty proud of myself."
