Spice Girls reveal we've been singing this iconic lyric wrong
As the Spice Girls continue to dominate headlines with news of their reunion tour, it's now emerged that fans have been singing some of their most famous lyrics wrong, for over 20 years.
While speculation continues as to why Victoria Beckham has chosen to decline partaking in the tour, Geri Halliwell Horner, aka Ginger Spice, has dropped a bombshell about one of the '90s girl groups biggest hits.
After Halliwell Horner, 46, tweeted the tour news writing, "@spicegirls -hai-Si-ja-hold tight #spicegirls #tour2019," some fans were left confused by the unusual spelling of the 'Spice Up Your Life' lyrics.
Since the smash hit was released in 1997, debate has raged for years over whether the pop group were singing "Hi C Ya" or "I See Ya."
As it turns out, it was neither, rather they were saying 'yes' in three different languages -- Japanese, Spanish and German.
For some die hard fans, their minds were instantly blown, with many identifying the genius of the three word combination, and others remaining unconvinced.
As news of the reformation tour spread, Beckham, 44, aka Posh Spice, shared a sweet post to Instagram announcing that she would not be joining the girls but wished them, "so much love and fun as they go back on tour."
"I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!" she added.
After Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice dressed up as Beckham for Heidi Klum's Halloween party, the question of whether the fashion queen has decided to sit this one out because of commitments to her clothing empire, or potentially past beef with her gal pals, is anyone's guess.
