Heidi Klum and boyfriend Tom Kaulitz transform into Princess Fiona and Shrek for Halloween

Halloween may be done and dusted for this year in Australia, but in the US it's still in full swing. And who better to pump up the party than the Queen of Halloween herself, Heidi Klum?

The 45-year-old supermodel is as known for her famous #HeidiHalloween parties as she is for her jaw-dropping costumes -- and this year she once again shocked revellers as she dressed up as Princess Fiona from the Shrek movies. Naturally her 29-year-old rocker boyfriend, Tom Kaulitz, was dolled up as lovable ogre Shrek.

Armed with a team of makeup artists and an assortment of prosthetics, it was easy for Klum to go from supermodel to ogre, which Klum had been documenting on Instagram in the last few days. But she said the design conception began months ago.

"I started in June already. I have to because I never want to be recognisable because I feel like I always make the biggest party and so I want people to dream and also encourage themselves to be a little more out there with their own costumes," she told Us Weekly last month. "So I feel like I always have to set the bar really high. I wear a lot of prosthetics, so they have to be built, so I have to do a lot of weird fittings."

Klum's Instagram followers got a first glimpse of her Princess Fiona costume two days ago when she teased a giant prosthetic foot on Instagram.

"Putting my best foot forward this #HeidiHalloween thanks to @prorenfx," she captioned the video while tagging leading artistic company Prosthetic Renaissance Inc. "Any guesses?! You'll find out soon enough! #TwoMoreDays #CantWait."
