It was panned by critics as one of the worst movies of all time, but 1995 stripper drama Showgirls has become a cult classic – and its star Elizabeth Berkley couldn't be prouder.

The 42-year-old former Saved By The Bell actress surprised fans at a special 20th anniversary screening of the notorious skin-fest at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery at the weekend.

In a heartfelt speech delivered with preacher-like passion, Elizabeth recalled how "painful" it was to be "shamed publicly" for that film…before thanking fans for finally giving her a "magical circle moment" thanks to their obsession.
