Cuban-born Cabello, 24, and Canadian Mendes, 23, confirmed they had started a relationship in July 2019, five years after meeting in 2014.
Shortly after the couple started dating, the music video for their joint song 'Senorita' was released.
Cabello and Mendes had posted a photo together as recently as Halloween and the couple celebrated their two-year anniversary in July this year.

The couple's split announcement comes after celebrity gossip Instagram DeuxMoi alleged Cabello was spotted on a plane talking about a breakup.
"My fiancé is on a plane from MIA to LAX and sees Camila Cabello sitting in business class with another girl, scrolling the movies and she asked the friend: 'What would you watch if you just went through a breakup? Happy things or sad things?'" the post read.
"The friend says happy first and then you can do sad. Camila responds, 'Yes, I do not want to start sobbing on this plane'."

Both Mendes and Cabello have been candid about the ups and downs of their relationship in interviews, with the 'Stitches' singer admitting in August the pair fought regularly.
"We definitely fight, and we get in like the worst little arguments, but like, I think that we definitely are pretty good at picking up on when it's just ego talking," Mendes told SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up.
"And we usually like, call each other out. It's we have a really honest and open relationship, but, but yeah, no, we definitely fight."
