'I hate this': Selena Gomez responds to cosmetic surgery speculation
Selena Gomez has responded to the wide-reaching speculation surrounding her looks and potential cosmetic surgery urging people to "leave [her] alone".
Over the weekend, Gomez commented on a TikTok video shared by an American plastic surgery physician's assistant that addressed the rumours surrounding the star's looks.
"Honestly I hate this," the Only Murders In The Building star commented on the video that was originally posted last year.
"I was on stripes because of flare up. I have Botox. That's it. Leave me alone."

After seeing Gomez' comment the TikTok user, who goes by the username Marissa the PA, shared a new video to apologise.
"I agree with you I do think that we should leave you alone and I said that in the video," she said before continuing that she wasn't sure if Gomez comment was directed at her individually or the speculations as a whole.
"You don't owe it to anyone to like tell us why you don't look the same as you did when you were a teenager or in your twenties," she added.

"I love you. Not about you," Gomez replied in the comments. "I just get sad sometimes."
In Marissa the PA's original video, which was posted in April 2023, the TikToker decided not to speculate on the what cosmetic procedures Gomez may have undergone sharing that from her experience in the industry she wasn't sure "what to attribute these changes to".

"I literally have no idea what she has gotten done. I think she has been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don't think it's fair to speculate whether or not she's gotten cosmetic things done," Marissa said.
"At the end of the day, let's just leave her be I feel like she's been through enough in her life and she's beautiful regardless so that's all I have to say about this," she concluded.
Gomez has been open about her personal health struggles since she revealed her diagnosis with the autoimmune disease Lupus in 2015.
"I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about. I could've had a stroke," she told Billboard at the time.
