Sam Frost reveals she will get COVID-19 vaccine after video controversy

Former Bachelorette and Home and Away star Sam Frost has revealed she will get vaccinated against COVID-19, weeks after her controversial video announcing she had not been jabbed.

In an Instagram Story post, the ex-reality star said she had a medical procedure booked for January but would be fully vaccinated by February.

"I'm not leaving Home & Away. I've got a medical procedure booked in for January. So I won't be fully vaxxed until mid-late February," Frost wrote.

"I will be written out temporarily, Jazzy is going on an off-screen adventure for a few weeks… but I'll be back."

She added: "My bosses are amazing, we've been in open communication for months. Very grateful we were able to make a plan that works for everyone."

The 32-year-old faced backlash after sharing an emotional video announcing she was not vaccinated and controversially describing the treatment of unvaccinated Australians as "segregation".

"I feel like it's getting to a point now in the world where there's a lot of segregation, a lot of harsh judgment, and it's taking its toll on my mental health," she said.

Frost explained she had "good reasons" for not being vaccinated but did not disclose them.

Shortly after posting the video, the starlet shut down her Instagram — which has 577,000 followers — before returning to the social media site two weeks later.

Frost thanked her followers and fans for their support after her surprise return to Instagram.

"I received thousands and thousands of beautiful messages and emails. I appreciate it, more than you'll ever know," she said.

"Incredibly grateful for my friends, family and work colleagues who held my hand through the storm, and loved me unconditionally."

Speculation had been mounting in recent days about the actress' vaccination status after Frost's employer Seven confirmed it would be enforcing a vaccine mandate for staff by January 10.
