Ryan Gosling spotted in rehearsals for Oscars performance of I'm Just Ken

Ryan Gosling is getting ready for the performance of a lifetime, taking the Oscars stage tomorrow – along with a reported 65 backup dancers – to perform his power-ballad from the Barbie movie.

The actor, who won a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the blockbuster film, has been seen in rehearsal on Friday (Saturday in Australia) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, to perfect the performance for the song I'm Just Ken.

"Ryan was in great spirits, and he was a total pro," a source who saw the rehearsal yesterday, told People "He was joking around and having a great time."

The 43-year-old was seen dressed in a casual jeans and a t-shirt with a microphone in hand as he and Mark Ronson, who wrote the tune and was nominated for Best Original Song, worked on the performance.

"Ryan was relaxed, his spirits were high, and everyone was having fun," the source added.

The Kenergy-filled song isn't the only one to be performed at the esteemed awards ceremony, which will be held tomorrow.

Others include What Was I Made For?, also from Barbie, which will be performed by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell, as well as The Fire Inside from Flamin' Hot, performed by Becky G, It Never Went Away, from American Symphony, performed by Jon Batiste and Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People) from Killers of the Flower Moon (performed by Scott George and the Osage Singers.

Gosling was previously shocked seeing that his co-star, Aussie actress Margot Robbie had been snubbed from Oscar nominations for her titular role.

"I am extremely honoured to be nominated by my colleagues alongside such remarkable artists in a year of so many great films. And I never thought I'd being saying this, but I'm also incredibly honoured and proud that it's for portraying a plastic doll named Ken," Gosling said in a statement at the time.

"But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no 'Barbie' movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film.

"No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit and genius. To say that I'm disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement," he continued.
