Roxy Jacenko opens up about her 'trainwreck' marriage to Oliver Curtis: 'I was done'

Roxy Jacenko is clearing the air.

The 37-year-old publicist, who is an open book on just about everything except her relationship with husband Oliver Curtis, is finally pulling back the curtain on the status of their marriage.

It's been the subject of intense speculation since Oliver completed his 12-month jail sentence for insider trading in June. During his incarceration, Roxy kissed a former flame and was often snapped without her wedding band, which sparked rumours they had split.

"I was concrete on getting divorced," Roxy told TODAY Extra hosts Sonia Kruger and David Campbell on Monday. "I was done."

Roxy revealed there were already strains on the relationship prior to the father of her two children entering jail.

"There was so much water under the bridge," she explained, reflecting on the period leading up to the trial. "You've got to remember, yes, he went to jail for 12 months -- but I had five years in the lead-up to that of the worry… it was terrible."

When Oliver was sentenced, Roxy admitted it was challenging, despite what it may have looked like from the outside.

"I was miserable," she said. "That's why I put all of my energy into the gym. I became an obsessive gym person -- and an obsessive eating person -- just trying to keep everything together."

Roxy famously dropped 12 kilograms after embarking on a strict diet and exercise regime, following her breast cancer diagnosis in mid-2016. She has since undergone treatment for the cancer and is in remission.

She explained during her TODAY Extra appearance that it was during Oliver's time inside at Cooma Correctional Centre that she made the decision their marriage was over.

"It was hard," she continued. "I had sort of made up my mind that was it."

But she said things started looking up after Oliver's release.

"He came home and my life all of sudden started to turn around. My life has changed dramatically." Roxy said.

Soon after his return, Oliver proposed to Roxy for a second time on July 15 at Sydney's Four Seasons Hotel, presenting her with a massive sparkler and balloons that read, "Marry Me? Again."

Guess we can patiently wait for Wedding No. 2, then, right?
