Rihanna says she'll never join Taylor Swift on stage: 'In my mind she's a role model, I'm not'

One is the bad girl who doesn't mind being caught rolling a joint or flashing a nipple. The other is the girl next door who loves her cats and fan-knitted jumpers.

It's crystal clear: Rihanna and Taylor Swift exist on vastly different plains. But it's still a surprise to see RiRi's brutally honest response when asked if she'd join Taylor on her 1989 tour.

"I don't think I would. I just don't think it makes sense," the 27-year-old Barbadian star told NME magazine.

"I don't think our brands are the same. I don't think they match, I don't think our audiences are the same. In my mind she's a role model, I'm not."

It's more of a valid point than a nasty swipe. But then again, Taylor's 1989 tour has been jam-packed with celeb guests from across the musical and entertainment spectrum: Wiz Khalifa, Beck, Mary J Blige, Julia Roberts, Ellen DeGeneres and Jason DeRulo to name a few.

Where's the harm in going a little off brand for a moment, RiRi?

Let's also remember that Rihanna's #TeamKaty. Back in July, her pal Katy Perry whinged about Rihanna's 'B--- Better Have My Money' video missing out on MTV VMAs noms while having her say about the Taylor Swift/Nicki Minaj Twitter feud.

So no Ri-Tay or Tay-Ri for us, then.
