Rebel Wilson reflects on her 'unhealthiest' time in a throwback photo with tennis star Novak Djokovic: 'So much pain'
Rebel Wilson is getting real about what inspired her decision to lose weight.
Last year, the Pitch Perfect star, 41, included fans on her "year of health" journey, where she lost approximately 30kg and overhauled her lifestyle.
Wilson is now looking back on her "unhealthiest" phase prior to getting herself on track.
"I know that I normally post flattering photos of myself…but found this old photo in my emails and was like: whoa! I remember this was when I was at my unhealthiest — being overweight and indulging way too much with junk food," she captioned a throwback photo of her playing tennis with Novak Djokovic on August 18.

Wilson described how she'd use food to "numb" her emotions following her dad's death in 2013.
"My father had passed away of a heart attack and it was such a sad time," she said. "I didn't think highly of myself and wasn't valuing myself how I should have. It's interesting that I'm still smiling and still trying to be active — this was taken at a charity tennis tournament event (ps @djokernole is such a nice guy) — despite being in so much pain."
She added, "I look back now at that girl and am so proud of what she's become and achieved."
Wilson wrapped up the post by sharing some words of support for any of her followers that may be in a similar position.

"And just wanted to send out some encouragement to everyone out there struggling with weight or body issues or emotional eating," she said.
"I feel you. I know what it's like. But it's never too late to start improving yourself and trying to be the best version of YOU possible. It's not a race and it's not a competition — it's about respecting yourself and doing what's best for YOU."
The comedian previously opened up about how she'd wished she's started earlier, but that wasn't her story.
"Now that I know I can do it, sometimes I feel sad that I didn't do it earlier," she told InStyle. "Maybe I should have tried when I was 30, not 40. But everybody's journey is different, and it's not a race or competition.
"It's not too late to start, no matter what age you are."
