Rebel Wilson says she regrets not losing weight sooner

Rebel Wilson says she regrets waiting until she was 40 to lose weight.

In a recent interview with InStyle, the Bridesmaids star admitted she is "sad" that she didn't kickstart her "Year of Health" journey sooner.

"Now that I know I can do it, sometimes I feel sad that I didn't do it earlier," she said. "Maybe I should have tried when I was 30, not 40. But everybody's journey is different, and it's not a race or competition.

Wilson also encouraged her fans to follow in her footsteps if they feel the need to change their lifestyle, regardless of how old they are.

"I have a natural empathy for anyone who struggles with weight issues because that's something I've always struggled with," she added. "Anyone can go on walks and drink more water and do little, consistent things that'll improve their lives. It's not too late to start, no matter what age you are."

In 2020, Wilson made a New Year's resolution to lose weight, with a target goal of 75kg.

In an interview with Good Morning America in March, the actress said she still faces challenges amid her health overhaul and how she plans to keep the weight off.

"Now the challenge is to keep it off. I've never successfully in my life [done that]," Wilson told the hosts. "I've lost a bit of weight here and there, but never kept it off."

The Aussie comedian celebrated reaching her goal weight at the end of last year.

"Hit my goal with one month to spare!" the actress and comedian wrote via her Instagram Story, alongside a photo of her scale. "Even though it's not about a weight number, it's about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75kgs."
