American singer Ray J has been raced to hospital after suffering a medical emergency in the middle of a livestream, just months after he said he was given a year to live.
The 45-year-old, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr, was attended by paramedics who were seen on the livestream treating him and then loading him into an ambulance.

Norwood’s mother was also present when his health scare occurred on Thursday (local time).
TMZ reported the situation was “strictly medical” and that sources said “there was nothing unusual or suspicious going on” when ambulances were called to the Hollywood-based studio Norwood was streaming from.
The outlet also reported that Norwood experienced what “sound[ed] like” a “problem with his heart”.
In January, the rapper announced on social media that he was suffering from severe heart failure and did not expect to survive for more than 12 months.
He received the diagnosis after being hospitalised with pneumonia and said it was a result of heavy binge-drinking and drug abuse.
“2027 is definitely a wrap for me. That’s what they say,” he confessed in an Instagram video.
“I f--ked up. I thought… I could handle all the alcohol, I could handle all the Adderall, I could handle all the drugs, but I couldn’t.”
He later told TMZ he’d been placed on ordered bed rest to help manage the condition.
Despite his health concerns, Norwood has been running a 180-day livestreaming marathon and has reportedly been going for long stretches without sleep to keep the stream active.

Norwood is the younger brother of American singer and actress Brandy, and found his own fame in the early 2000s.
He famously dated Kim Kardashian from 2002 until 2006, and went on to have a reality TV career of his own years after they split.
Norwood has been married once and shares two children with ex-wife Princess Love, but she filed for divorce in 2020 after four years of marriage.
