Then and Now: The cast of the original Percy Jackson movies
The Percy Jackson films received mixed reviews when they were released in 2010 and 2013.
Fans of the book were outraged by multiple casting choices, and although the movies received decent reviews as stand alone films, reader's weren't happy.
Rick Riordan's series, which inspired the movies, was beloved worldwide, so movie makers had some big shoes to fill.
Unfortunately, they seemed to fall short in a few areas.
Nonetheless, Riordan and the filmmakers persisted to the second novel before it just wasn't viable to make a third.
Lucky for book fans, though, a new TV series has just been released on Disney+ and viewers are already raving about its similarities to the novels.
Many members of the original cast have come out in support of the series, wishing the young actors the best of luck.
Lets take a look at where the cast of the 2010 and 2013 Percy Jackson films are now.
Alexandra Daddario: Then
Alexandra Daddario was cast as the female lead and daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase.
But fans weren't originally happy with the casting choice.
Daddario and Riordan received a ton of backlash from fans, simply because in the books, Annabeth had blonde hair.
Alexandra Daddario: Now
The Percy Jackson films were Daddario's breakthrough role, and she's since gone on to work on some major projects that have made her one of Hollywood's most famous young faces.
Most notably, the actress starred alongside The Rock and Zac Efron in the 2017 Baywatch film, and opposite Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey in True Detective.
She also landed the role of Rachel Patton on season one of The White Lotus.
Logan Lerman: Then
Logan Lerman was Riordan's leading man, son of Poseidon Percy Jackson.
Fans of the books were happy about his casting, however there was an overwhelming sense of nervousness toward the movie.
In the books, Percy and the other demigods were all in their very young teens, and the people cast to play them were much older.
Logan Lerman: Now
After Percy Jackson, Lerman became a bit of a heartthrob of the time.
He went on to star in The Perks of Being a Wallflower alongside Emma Watson and has since worked on some huge projects.
Most recently, Lerman was seen in Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.
Brandon T. Jackson: Then
Brandon T. Jackson was cast as Grover Underwood, a Satyr tasked with protecting Percy at all costs.
He became best friends with the demigod and was a main character in both movies.
Brandon T. Jackson: Now
Jackson hasn't added too many movies to his resume since Percy Jackson.
However the actor is in development on an action-comedy he wrote and will star in, and has also come off the back of a stand-up comedy tour.
Pierce Brosnan: Then
Pierce Brosnan played Chiron, the most famous centaur in Greek mythology.
Chiron was known as a wise and trusted mentor to many heroes, which is exactly what the character was to Percy in the movies.
Pierce Brosnan: Now
Pierce Brosnan was one of the most well-known names in Hollywood before he starred as Chiron, and has gone on to keep that title since.
He's starred in a number of feature films since Percy Jackson's release, including Mamma Mia, Black Adam, and The Outlaws.
Jake Abel: Then
Jake Abel played nice guy turned villain, Luke Castellan.
He featured in both the first and second films and was a good friend to Percy before betraying him.
