Paris Jackson farewells Australia after being 'shredded to pieces by monstrous media'

It's no secret that her Australian visit has been plagued with cruel tabloid headlines, and now, Paris Jackson is having the final say.

The 19-year-old model and actress, who travelled to Queensland following her Melbourne Cup appearance on Tuesday, has shared some thoughts about her treatment on Instagram.  

"It breaks my heart to have visited the most beautiful country I've ever seen and may ever see, and meet the kindest most genuine people, and then be shredded to pieces by their monstrous media," she captioned a bird's eye view photo of the Great Barrier Reef.

"Despite the nasty and cruel words, I still can't wait to come back," she continued. "Thanks for the support Aus tabloids, you guys are fantastic and I hope you feel big and strong for tearing down a teenage girl."

The daughter of the late Michael Jackson faced criticism after her unconventional appearance at Flemington.

The young star was photographed pulling faces and licking a glass window from inside the exclusive Myer marquee. She also opted to wear a pair of ankle boots instead of heels, and chose a different dress than the Alex Perry gown that was reportedly selected for her by Myer.

"It was the most like me out of the options I was given," she told Elle Australia on Tuesday. "It’s one of my favourite colours, it’s comfortable, it’s soft and don’t feel like I want to die in it."

(A fair answer, no?).

But some outlets were less than impressed with her race day antics.

On Wednesday, a slew of nasty headlines surfaced, including one that labelled Paris "Wacko Jacko 2.0" -- a nickname that her father despised.

The young star took to Twitter to call out the journalists responsible, writing, "You guys are f---in' cowards. Bet you don't have the balls to call me that to my face."

Thankfully, it didn't completely ruin her trip Down Under.

"ANYWAY I was really moved by the [Great Barrier Reef] and I'm excited to get involved in its protection programs," she continued in her Instagram post. " And everyone else was so kind and full of love and it made my heart happy.

"Most of y'all were a ray of sunshine during a cloudy couple of weeks for me. Thank you."
