All the details you may have missed from the 2025 Oscars 'class photo'
It's that time of year again, all of the Oscar nominees of 2025 have come together to take a "class picture".
The snap was taken at a luncheon were nominees were invited to mingle over dinner and cocktails. The photo is usually taken well in advance of the awards ceremony, though this year it was delayed due to the devastating LA Wildfires.
But while it may look like just another group photo, on closer inspection there are a lot of details you may not have noticed.

Besties Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were of course seated together, front and centre.
The pair continued their run of method dressing as their promotion of Wicked comes to an end with award season.
The most popular (haha, get it?) of the class of 2025, they took the charge in pumping everyone up for the photo.
Grande reportedly shouted an encouraging "Whoo!" as the photographer took the photo, while Erivo called out, "Everyone say 'Oscar nominee!'"
Erivo is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Wicked, while Grande is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
Seated next to them are Zoe Saldana, Mikey Madison and Monica Barbaro – nailing the 'cool girl' vibes.
Saldana looked stunning in a brown dress, having been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the film Emilia Pérez.
Madison gave a big cheesy grin to the camera, clearly chuffed about her Best Actress nomination for her role in Anora.
Barbaro looked effortlessly chic in a brown top and beige skirt, and is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for A Complete Unknown.
In every big group photo there's a group of besties and in 2025 it's clear that it's the team behind documentary Black Box Diaries.
From left to right the documentary's producer Hanna Aqvilin, subject Shiori Ito, producer Eric Nyari, and editor Ema Ryan Yamazaki held hands in the snap.
The film, which is nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film, follows Ito as she documents her sexual assault investigation and case in Japan.
Timothee Chalamet
Timothee Chalamet was the lone wolf sitting off on his own and to the side, posing with his fist to his chest.
The 28-year-old has been nominated for Best Actor for his role in A Complete Unknown.
This is the second time he has been nominated, the first was in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name.
As per usual, a lot of the cool kids gravitated to the back row.
Guy Pearce, Demi Moore, Edward Norton sat together in the middle at the rear of the snap.
Moore is nominated for Best Actress for The Substance, while Edward Norton is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in A Complete Unknown.
Australia's very own Guy Pearce has also been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Brutalist.
Ralph Fiennes and John "Divine G" Whitfield sat on the top left of the photo.
Fiennes is nominated as Best Actor for his role in Conclave.
Whitfield is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for Sing Sing, a story based on his own life as a formerly incarcerated man who was involved in the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison.
Adrien Brody, Colman Domingo, Sebastian Stan also made their way up the back.
Brody, who has been sweeping awards season, is nominated for Best Actor for The Brutalist.
Domingo, who plays Whitfield in Sing Sing, is nominated for Best Actor.
Meanwhile, Stan is nominated for his portrayal of Donald Trump in The Apprentice.
Director James Mangold sheepishly shuffled into his seat in a far corner.
The A Complete Unknown director – who has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay for the film – slinked in to the class photo late to an affectionate groan followed by cheers from his fellow nominees.
The most colourful of the group photo was Maya Gnyp, producer of I Am Ready, Warden.
She wore a bold fuzzy pink and orange jumper to celebrate her nomination for Best Documentary Short, with the film following Texas death row inmate John Henry Ramire in his final days.
