Something isn't quite right here!

Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey found themselves in a hilarious predicament after they were both victims of a Photoshop edit gone very wrong.

The actress, 41, and TV icon, 63, both appear on the cover of Vanity Fair's 24th annual Hollywood Issue, which celebrates the upcoming 90th Academy Awards and honours the top 18 actors of the year.

In the photo, lensed by veteran photographer Annie Leibovitz, Witherspoon, in an ivory sequin gown with a daring split, cosies up to her A Wrinkle in Time co-star Winfrey. On social media, fans were baffled to see that it appeared the Big Little Lies star had not two, but three legs poking out from beneath her gown.

Making light of the editorial mistake, Witherspoon, defended the pic on Twitter on Friday.

"Well...I guess everybody knows now...I have 3 legs. I hope you can still accept me for who I am. (and I will never apologize for snuggling @Oprah .. if you get the opportunity, I highly recommend it;)."

But this wasn't the only snafu. In another pic, Winfrey, wearing a dramatic black gown, appeared to have three hands: one perched on her hip, another on her lap, and an inexplicable third wrapped around Witherspoon's waist.

And Twitter wasn't letting this one go, either.

Brilliantly, Winfrey joked in response to Witherspoon's earlier tweet: "I accept your 3d leg. As I know you accept my 3d hand."

AMAZING.

Vanity Fair caught wind of the controversy surrounding Witherspoon and Winfrey's photos and had an equally perfect clapback.

"While we would have loved the exclusive on @RWitherspoon's three legs, unfortunately, it's just the lining of her dress," the publication tweeted.

"As for @Oprah, how can we expect her to juggle it all with just two hands?... (We are correcting this error online.)"

There you have it, folks.
