Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas blush as their flirty DMs are read aloud on podcast

Singer Nick Jonas and his actress wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, took a trip down memory lane as the Citadel star made an appearance on podcast Hey Jonas.

The couple talked about the early days of their relationship and expanded on the fact Kevin Jonas first mentioned Priyanka to Nick, prompting the Jonas Brother to DM her on social media.

Kevin recommended Nick watch Priyanka’s drama series Quantico and moments later Nick spotted a billboard for the show with Priyanka’s face front and centre.

The topic came up while Priyanka, 43, was being interview by her husband and brothers-in-law on their podcast, with Nick and Joe Jonas reading aloud the DMs.

The couple, who’ve been married for eight years in December and have a daughter, blushed as they held hands while the Twitter messages were read out.

“Hello. I’ve heard from a few people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people. Are you in LA anytime soon?” Nick wrote.

Priyanka replied: “Hey. Graham’s told me so much about you. Let’s text. More private. My team can access this.”

Kevin and Joe jokingly told the couple they wanted to see the first text message sent but Priyanka revealed Nick asked her for a photo - with a timestamp - to verify it was really her.

Nick, 33, reveals it was a year-and-a-half after they started texting that they actually began dating.

However, that phase didn’t last as long with the couple engaged just two-and-a-half months later.

Nick spoke about why he was nervous after a flight delay messed up his timings for the proposal, which was meant to be at midnight after Priyanka’s birthday ended.

“We get to the place that we’re staying in Greece and again we were kind of late and we’re having dinner and I’m looking at the clock the whole time like, ‘Oh god, this is going to be a disaster’,” he recalled.

Priyanka recalled noticing he was distracted and wondering whether to be worried.

“Why is he anxious on this holiday? Is this the kind of person he is? We are in Greece alone for the first time together,” she said.

At 2.30am after they polished off a magnum of Lynchbage, with the birthday girl about to pass out, Nick seized the moment reluctantly.

“I said, ‘I have one more gift for you’. So, I run back to the room and I grabbed the ring and proposed and it all worked out the way it was supposed to,” he said, adding it took her a while to say “yes”, so he just put the ring on her finger in the meantime.

Elsewhere, Nick said one thing he’s loved about their eight years of marriage was all the Bollywood gossip, which took his wife aback.

“That’s what you have loved the most about our whole marriage?!” Priyanka said.

The couple, who have a 10-year age gap, married in India in December 2018 and welcomed Malti Marie Chopra Jonas via surrogacy in January 2022.
