Move over, boys! The all-female Ghostbusters cast has been revealed

The all-new poltergeist-punishing foursome is finally here.

Director Paul Feig has confirmed his all-female Ghostbusters cast on Twitter, posting a pic of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Saturday Night Live players Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

In the remake, the four principal characters first played by Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Akroyd and Ernie Hudson in the 1984 original will now be women.

Bill called the reboot a "grand idea", so we're hoping he might make a cameo appearance.

Back in September, the original Ghostbuster revealed his personal "fan cast" for a female-driven flick, and it included both Melissa (his St.Vincent co-star) and Kristen alongside Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks) and Emma Stone.

"Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster," he added. "And Kristen is funny – God, she's funny!"

Although The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that "negotiations are ongoing", the publication confirmed the movie will most likely film in New York City from June to August.
