From mic snatches to unfortunate name mispronunciations: These are the most awkward moments in award show history
There's something about an awards show that just grabs you. It might be the sheer star power in the building, the sparkly outfits, or the anticipation of seeing who wins.
Or maybe it's waiting for one those moments that go down in history, the ones people just can't seem to stop talking about, because they're just so awkward.
They're moments you simply can't look away from, though some some of those awkward moments do have a sweetness to them ... but not all.

The La La Land mix-up, 2017
The 2017 Oscars featured possibly the biggest mistake in the history of the Academy Awards.
Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway took to the stage to announce the final award of the evening, Best Picture.
They opened the envelope and read out the film title La La Land, and the cast and crew of the movie gathered up on the stage.
The film's producer, Josh Horowitz, proudly held the Oscar in his hand as he gave a moving speech with the cast and crew surrounding him.
But, unbeknownst to Horowitz, chaos began to unfold behind him.
Academy officials ran out from backstage and looked at the envelop held by the presenters while the La La Land cast and crew looked on with confusion.
It wasn't long before Horowitz was interrupted and asked to clear something up.
"This is not a joke," he said.
"Moonlight has won best picture, they have read out the wrong name."
Host Jimmy Kimmel came out onto the stage with an envelope in his hand, holding it up to the cameras to prove that there indeed had been a major mix up.
It was a gracious handover as the cast of Moonlight took to the stage and the cast of La La Land congratulated them.
We later learned that the presenters had somehow been given the wrong card.
The card handed to them had indeed had La La Land written on it, but it was the card for Best Actress, which went to Emma Stone for her performance in the film.
Since then, we can guess the team at the Academy have triple checked the envelopes before they're sent onto the stage.
Jack Palance's Oscars acceptance speech, 1991
In 1991, Jack Palance took to the Oscars stage at 73 years old to accept the golden statue.
He had won the Best Supporting Actor gong for the film City Slickers, but rather than saying the typical 'thank you's, Palance had a point to prove.
"You know, there are times when you reach a certain age plateau where the producers say, they talk about you and they say, 'Well, what do you think? Can we risk it? Can we do it? Can we use him?'," Palance began as audiences wondered where he could be taking it.
"The other guy says, 'I don't know, let's look at some younger ones. We can make them look older, but this one, you know, it's kind of difficult.'
"They forget, they forget to ask that you go out there and you do all these…things. Like for instance, you know..."
As his sentence trailed off, Palance walked away from the podium while audience members inhaled.
But no one expected what he did next.
The 73-year-old actor got down on the floor and began to do some one-armed push ups on stage.
He managed to prove his point – dramatic as it may have been – that age is merely a number.
Kanye interrupts Taylor Swift, 2009
Have you ever heard someone throw out the words "Imma let you finish" and wondered where on earth that came from? Well, you're about to find out.
It was meant to be Taylor Swift's night.
She arrived at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in a horse drawn carriage, sparkling in a silver gown and hoping that she might take home the award for best female video.
When the moment came and her name was read out, she couldn't hide the smile on her face as she took to the stage and began to talk about how she had always dreamed of this moment.
Then, she was interrupted.
Kanye West walked up to her and took the microphone straight out of her hand.
"Yo Taylor," he began as the 19-year-old looked baffled as to what was going on.
"I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish," he added, before turning around and stunning the crowd.
