Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger and his partner of 10 years, former ballerina Melanie Hamrick, have a 44-year age gap.

But in a new interview, Hamrick, 37, says she pays absolutely no attention to critics or naysayers about her relationship with the British rocker, 81.

Speaking to The Times, she said: "I don't think about it. Everyone's going to have their opinion. If you think about others' opinions, no matter where you are in life, you're going to have a problem and you're going to analyse it."

She said people can "mind their own business" and insisted she's "happy" with the iconic musician.

"Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. Okay, they can mind their own business."

The couple started dating back in 2014 after having met at a Rolling Stones concert.

Just a year ago, the pair sparked engagement rumours. But Hamrick has reportedly called a ring she was seen wearing, a "promise ring".

They share son Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger, seven, together. He is a father to eight children in total from previous relationships.

Hamrick recently penned an erotic novel, called First Position, and she said Jagger encouraged her to write the book.

Speaking on This Morning, she said: "I'm so lucky, he really encouraged me to write and get going."

"If I shocked him, I did a great job, it did what it needed to do. I think at about a halfway point, I said when it comes out you've got to go and buy your own copy."

The novel's inscription reads: "To my love, thank you for your endless support and inspiration."
