Metallica shocks Aussie fans with huge announcement: 'Locked down'

Heavy metal band Metallica have announced they're set to hit Aussie shores next year for a tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The rockers are bringing their world tour Down Under in November, with shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.

Their first show will be at Perth's Optus Stadium on November 1.

"⚠️🌏 #M72 2025 IN AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND 🌏⚠️," they wrote in their announcement post.

"We've locked down our return with stadium shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland next November!"

They added in part of their post: "Tickets go on sale Monday, 4 November, Local Time. Fan Club Presales begin Tuesday, 29 October, Local Time."

The band, known for hits including Nothing Else Matters and Master of Puppets, will be supported by the bands Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies.

"Never thought I'd see this day come," one fan wrote underneath.

Metallica are known for their incredible shows – and last year, Aquaman star Jason Momoa was seen partying with fellow fans in the mosh pit.

"She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including Barx Æterna, Master of Puppies, and The Mailman That Never Comes."
