Melanie Griffith is sending soon-to-be ex-husband Antonio Banderas to the doghouse... no kidding!
The Working Girl actress wants custody of the pair's three pet pooches in their divorce proceedings, sources close to the star told TMZ.
Melanie, 56, and Antonio, 53, have one terrier mix named Elliot and two shepherd Labrador mixes called Arlo and Mickey Finn. The latter two are brother-sister puppies, adopted by Melanie in February 2013 from an animal shelter.
According to Melanie's pals, she's the "better dog owner" than Antonio. Hello, the guy's Puss in Boots!
Jokes aside, we're sure the pups will go to a loving home. Their Hollywood owners, who have a combined net worth of $50million, own homes in Spain, Los Angeles, Aspen and New York… plenty of room for pimped-out kennels, we think.
Melanie filed for divorce on June 6, citing "irreconcilable differences".
"We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalise our almost 20-year marriage in a loving and friendly manner honouring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together. — Melanie & Antonio," the ex-couple said in a statement.
Melanie is seeking spousal support and joint legal custody of their 17-year-old daughter, Stella.
