The sweet moment was captured by cameras at the MCG on Wednesday night.
“Aww Mary and Nathan, yes, he needs that hug,” James Bracey said on Nine’s coverage.
“What kind of pep talk can we get from Mary to Nathan ahead of game three, the decider, in Brisbane?
“Great to see the love being shared in those sheds, even in the losing team’s ones tonight at the MCG.”

Fowler was seen wearing a tan peaked cap over her curly hair along with a matching jacket for the athlete’s off-duty look.
Clearly was still in his Blues uniform after the team’s 44-24 loss following Queensland’s second-half onslaught, which forced an Origin decider in Brisbane.
NSW won game one last month by a much narrower margin, with a remarkable 22-20 comeback victory over the Maroons.
Fowler and Cleary have been dating since August 2023.
Their secret romance was outed in November that year after they were photographed on a date.
The couple officially went public with their relationship a few months later, in January 2024, with loved-up photos together on social media.
Since then, they have been seen supporting each other’s big games when their own sporting schedules allow.

Cleary has been seen in the crowds at a number of Matildas’ matches but today marks the first time Fowler’s seen him play State of Origin.
With Fowler playing in the UK for Manchester City in the Women’s Super League, the couple spend months at a time apart.
Late last year, Cleary revealed Fowler was “starting to understand rugby league a little bit” as she prepared to watch him in the Kangaroos side against England in the second Ashes Test.
The footballer was recovering from an ACL injury at the time, so she was able to see her beau play in Liverpool in November.
Fowler went out onto the field to congratulate Cleary after their win and the pair posed for pictures together on the pitch.
