Singer Madison Beer hits back at body-shaming troll: 'I wouldn't touch you with a 10 ten foot pole'

Singer Madison Beer has hit back at a troll who tried to body shame her in the comment section of her latest Instagram post.

The 24-year-old posted a series of photos wearing a short white dress that showed off her legs.

This prompted one commenter to write: "Hey Madison i've noticed that ur legs and arms are getting fatter.. please do some cardio because we men only like skinny girls."

"Ur face is already perfect, but please we love a thin-waisted girl."

The Reckless singer replied with, "I wouldn't touch you with a 10 ten foot pole if you paid me a million dollars."

Fans came to the star's defense, commending her for standing up for herself.

"She's nicer than I would have been! Imagine having to deal with comments like that everyday..." said one.

"Why [are] people so comfortable with telling someone how [their] body should look?" questioned another.

"She instantly shut him down, people are just asking for it sometimes," one added.

Beer previously spoke about her struggles with body image as a result of being a public figure and receiving all sorts of comments.

Speaking on the Today show back in April, Beer spoke about the effect of the "public scrutiny, bullying and harassment" she experienced.

The Dangerous singer shared that she had been "struggling" with body dysmorphia due to having "so many people impact me so negatively about my body when I was younger.

"I grew up pretty happy, I thought I had a nice body. But hearing endless comments about how I don't, it was really, really hurtful to me when I was so young."

According to the Mayo Clinic, body dysmorphia is a mental health condition in which a person "can't stop thinking about a perceived defect or flaw in their appearance", which can lead to anxiety and depression.
