Lisa Marie Presley kept son Benjamin Keough's body on dry ice at her house for two months after he died in a bid to help her grieve
Lisa Marie Presley was so overcome with grief when her son Benjamin Keough died by suicide at the age of 27 in 2020 that she kept his body at home for two months after.
The admission was revealed in her posthumous memoir From Here to the Great Unknown, which was finished by her daughter Riley Keough.
In the book, Presley revealed she kept his body on dry ice at "55 degrees" [12 degrees celsius] in a casitas in her Los Angeles home as she struggled to come to the terms with the loss.
At one point, she even showed a tattoo artist his body before laying him to rest at the Presley family home, Graceland.

A casitas is a separate living area that's detached from the main house.
For Presley, the move was nothing unusual as she had her dad at home after his death which helped her grieve the loss when she was just a kid.
"I felt so fortunate that there was a way that I could still parent him, delay it a bit longer so that I could become okay with laying him to rest," her memoir reads, according to People.
"I think it would scare the living f---ing piss out of anybody else to have their son there like that. But not me."
