Beloved actor Leslie Jordan was due to visit specialist days before his death after experiencing shortness of breath

More details have been revealed regarding the death of Hollywood star Leslie Jordan.

The beloved actor and comedian died after he reportedly suffered a medical episode and crashed his car into a building in LA. According to TMZ, Jordan had been unwell for three weeks and was due to seek medical advice within the week. Sadly, he passed on Monday, aged 67.

The outlet reports that the Will & Grace alum complained of shortness of breath and had an appointment with his cardiologist to check his heart in the next few days to determine if he had any underlying health conditions. Aside from the shortness of breath and a bout of COVID-19 last year, Jordan was otherwise healthy.

It was the Los Angeles Times that first made the sad announcement Jordan had passed away before a spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed the news to CNN and his rep shared an emotional message on Instagram.

"The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out and we invite you to share your memories and comfort each other during this time," a representative wrote on Jordan's Instagram.

"In the coming days we will be giving a glimpse of a project Leslie was really proud of and was looking forward to sharing with the world."

Jordan is best known for playing the overly camp Beverly Leslie on Will & Grace, a role that won him a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006.

How co-star Eric McCormack, who played Will, was among the first to pay tribute to the late actor.

"Crushed to learn about the loss of @thelesliejordan, the funniest & flirtiest southern gent I've ever known. The joy and laughter he brought to every one of his #WillandGrace episodes was palpable," he wrote.

"Gone about thirty years too soon. You were loved, sweet man."

His other co-star Sean Hayes, who played Jack wrote: "My heart is broken.

"Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend."
