Kanye West reportedly loses billionaire status after Adidas cuts ties

The blows keep coming for Kanye West amid the fallout of his anti-Semitic remarks with reports now suggesting the rapper is no longer a billionaire.

According to a Forbes report, the 45-year-old controversial views "obliterated his net worth" of $US1.3 billion ($2 billion) after Adidas pulled its lucrative partnership with the rapper.

Although the sporting giant did not solely contribute to West's financial downpour – West has also lost massive deals with clothing brand Gap and fashion house Balengiaca – Forbes reports Adidas was West's bread and butter and it's believed to have done major damage to his bottom line.

Forbes now believes West's net is worth an estimated $US400 million ($625 million) after parting ways with Adidas after nine years.

On the Drink Champs podcast earlier this month, West boasted that Adidas could not cut ties with him as he brings them the big bucks, thanks to his Yeezy sneaker line.

"I can say anti-Semitic s--t and Adidas cannot drop me," he said on the show.

In the weeks that followed, Adidas widely remained silent except to admit its partnership with West was "under review". Yesterday, they officially nixed the deal.

"Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech," the company said in a statement. "Ye's recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company's values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness."

"After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect."
