Kylie Jenner denies sending cease and desist letters to Gold Coast mum
Kylie Jenner has set the record straight about reports she allegedly threatened legal action against an Australian business over its 'Rise and Shine' T-shirts.
The makeup mogul spoke out on Twitter yesterday after she supposedly sent a Gold Coast woman cease and desist letters, allegedly warning the local mother from using the catchphrase on items she sold online. Jenner is currently in the process of trademarking 'Rise and Shine', a term she made popular last month after singing it to her young daughter, Stormi Webster.
Kylie Jenner made the catchphrase popular in a YouTube video posted on October 10. YouTube
"Lies lies lies. Never did this. Wow," Jenner tweeted on November 10. "Guys, please don't believe everything you read. I have not sent any Rise and Shine cease and desist letters.
"Rise and Shine was an unexpected moment," added the 22-year-old. "I had a lot of fun with it, and I have laughed so hard seeing everyone's memes since the video came out a few weeks ago."
Last month, the woman and mother — who asked not to be named — told The Gold Coast Bulletin that her business Cased Clothing had received letters from Jenner's camp telling her to stop selling T-shirts which featured the now-famous slogan.

"We have been selling the shirts for a year but tend to change our designs regularly, so we hadn't planned on making many more," the woman told the newspaper. "I used to really like her, now I'm like are you kidding me.
"The design wasn't about her — it was just a shirt with a different holiday feel," the woman added. "We still have a few left but don't plan on selling them now."
But in a follow-up tweet, Jenner reiterated that letters were never sent on her behalf.
"There are no lawsuits, no cease and desist letters," Jenner added. "Happy Sunday."
