Kim Kardashian reveals the personal decision that 'caused' her divorce
Kim Kardashian says making the decision to put herself first contributed to the breakdown of her marriage to Kanye West.
In an interview with Vogue for her upcoming cover story, Kardashian opened up about prioritising her own happiness — something which she said "caused" her divorce.
The 41-year-old reality star told reporters, "For so long, I did what made other people happy and I think in the last two years I decided, I'm going to make myself happy."

"And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I've chosen myself. I think it's okay to choose you."
Kardashian also touched on her mindset heading into her 40s saying, "My 40s are about being Team Me. I'm going to eat well. I'm going to work out. I'm going to have more fun, spend more time with my kids and the people who make me happy."
Kardashian reflected on her relationship with West, who heavily influenced her fashion choices during their almost seven-year marriage: "I always think, What will be next? Because I always had Kanye, who knew exactly what the next fashion era would be for me."

The mum-of-four filed for divorce from the rapper in February 2021. Together the pair share four children: North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, three and Psalm, two.
Despite calling it quits, West has refused to let go of their relationship, reportedly "not giving up without a fight" after the SKIMS founder moved on in November with comedian Pete Davidson.

Earlier this week, West hit back at his ex-wife in a scathing Instagram post amid a growing dispute over how they raise their kids.
The 44-year-old rapper, who now goes by the name Ye, claims Kardashian accused him of "putting a hit out on her."
