Kim Kardashian's surprise act during Paris Fashion Week as close friend Lauren Sánchez watches on

Kim Kardashian has made a surprise walk down the runway for Balenciaga during Paris Fashion Week, as close friend Lauren Sanchez and singer Katy Perry watched on.

Kardashian, 44, walked for the iconic brand for their Haute Couture Collection on July 9, in honour of Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia who is leaving the brand to work as Creative Director at Gucci.

The reality star took to the catwalk wearing a form-fitting white satin midi dress with lace trim and spaghetti straps.

The look was completed with a cream-coloured fur coat draped off her shoulders.

She also wore a statement Lorrain Schwartz necklace and her necklace was styled in a sleek, curled bob.

Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner provided some insight into her daughter's striking look.

"Kim's look was a stunning tribute to Elizabeth Taylor," Jenner shared on Instagram, posting several photos during Kardashian's fitting, adding that "Kim is wearing Elizabeth's diamond pendant earrings from Lorraine Schwartz's private collection".

Kardashian also shared glimpses from behind the scenes at the show.

"Walking Demna's last Balenciaga Couture show dripping in Lorraine Schwartz jewellry and wearing Elizabeth Taylor's diamond earrings from her private collection," she said, sharing several photos and videos, including two with Gvasalia.

This was Gvasalia's final collaboration with Balenciaga where he had worked for the past decade. Kardashian has been an ambassador for the brand since 2022, with the duo collaborating on several successful campaigns.

Kardashian recently returned from Italy where she joined A-list stars at the wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.

Sanchez arrived for the Balenciaga show in an all-black ensemble gifted to her by the brand, sharing the note she received from the brand which read: "From Balenciaga with love."

The newlywed also shared a video she filmed of Kardashian taking to the runway, followed by footage of supermodel Naomi Campbell who also walked in the show.

Sanchez also shared a behind-the-scenes snap taken alongside Katy Perry who made her first solo public appearance since confirming her split with actor Orlando Bloom.

A photo of Sanchez and Perry's Balenciaga invitations placed side by side was also posted.

Kardashian has been turning heads since she arrived in France ahead of Paris Fashion Week, recently taking to the streets in a figure-hugging pink Balenciaga dress she shared on Instagram alongside the caption: "BALENCI BARBIE 2LYFE."

Earlier in the day, Kardashian shared a photo during her glam session, showing clips still in her hair mid-styling session.

She accessorised her bold look with another Balenciaga staple: shield sunglasses, which she wore while posing for photos and when she stepped out.

Kardashian also paid tribute to a long-time Balenciaga designer who is leaving the company, having worked with the reality star for years and creating some of her most iconic looks.

Demna Gvasalia is the current Creative Director of Balenciaga, and the Georgian designer has now left the iconic brand and will work with Gucci.

"It's Demna's last @Balenciaga show tomorrow... so I will be pantabooting the f--k out of these," she shared.
