Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s awkward reunion at daughter North’s first solo concert

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reunited to support daughter North West at her first solo concert, though the exes were careful to keep their distance all night.
North, 13, performed music from her N0rth4evr debut EP at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, US, on Saturday (local time) while her parents watched on.

Kardashian, 45, and her friends took in the show from a balcony on one side of the venue and was spotted recording North on her phone.
West, 49, sat on the opposite side of the 1400-capacity venue with a group of his own and was seen smiling down at his daughter.
It’s the first time they’ve been seen in a room together for quite some time, following their split.
Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021 and West moved on with Australian wife Bianca Censori, whom he wed in 2022.
Kardashian recently went public with her new flame Lewis Hamilton, but he was nowhere to be seen on Saturday night.
Instead the proud mum seemed more focused on North, sharing several clips from her daughter’s concert on social media.
Kardashian also posted footage of the crowd waving up at her on the balcony while they waited for North’s set to start.
According to one attendee, who goes by @caitlininchicago on TikTok, North went on nearly an hour after her scheduled start time.

The teen performed in a long-sleeve white mini dress with buckle details down the front, white boots and matching frilly white socks.
She wore what appeared to be a long blue wig styled in two ponytails, similar to the Vocaloid character Hatsune Miku.
Her concert appeared to be well-received by fans in the crowd, though some critics voiced concern about North being in the spotlight at such a young age.

West has been vocal about wanting to protect his children with Kardashian – North, Saint, ten, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, seven – from public scrutiny.
Despite that, he has been supportive of North’s budding music career and has even brought her on stage when he performed at the SoFi Stadium last month.
North also had a headline tour with rapper Molly Santana scheduled for later this year, but it has since been cancelled.
Fans aren’t just concerned about North stepping into the spotlight though.
Many have voiced concern about the teen’s bold style, which has included body modifications that could leave permanent scars.

North revealed dermal piercings on her hands and fingers earlier this year, sparking fierce debate over whether a child so young should have been allowed to undergo such modifications.
Most of the piercings seem to have been removed in the months since, but North appears to have some scarring on her hands as a result.
