Kendall Jenner reportedly earned $500,000 for her appearance at Sydney store opening

In case we all needed reminding, it really pays to be a Kardashian/Jenner.

For the opening of the Tiffany & Co. flagship store in Sydney on Thursday night, the iconic jewellery brand flew Kendall Jenner down under as the guest of honour. And the supermodel's presence came with a hefty price tag.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Jenner, 23, was paid a staggering $500,000 for the appearance, possibly more.

"That would be an underestimate," a fashion insider told the paper.

And the trip is the definition of whirlwind -- Jenner arrived in Sydney on Thursday morning with her makeup artist, Mary Phillips, and hairstylist, Jen Atkin, and reportedly flies back to the US today.

Not bad for an event that only went for a few hours. Lara Worthington, Jesinta Campbell and A$AP Ferg were among the stylish guests who walked the black carpet.

While most of us only dream about being paid half a million dollars, this is standard income for Jenner, who is the world's highest paid model, according to Forbes.

The publication said she earned US$22.5 million in the 12 months leading up to June 2018 thanks to contracts with brands including Estée Lauder, Adidas and Calvin Klein.

Thanks to her name and Instagram following of over 107 million, Jenner also commands a lot for sponsored posts.

She controversially promoted the disastrous Fyre Festival with an Instagram post that she was reportedly paid US$250,000 for. Other models who were involved with the festival, whether through social media or by appearing in the promotional video, include Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Baldwin and Aussie Shanina Shaik.

Jenner broke her silence over the issue in a recent interview with The New York Times.

"You get reached out to by people to, whether it be to promote or help or whatever, and you never know how these things are going to turn out," she explained.

"Sometimes it's a risk," she continued. "I definitely do as much research as I can, but sometimes there isn't much research you can do because it's a starting brand and you kind of have to have faith in it and hope it will work out the way people say it will.

"You never really know what's going to happen."

Understandably, the topic of Fyre Festival was off-limits for media at the Tiffany & Co. event.

Despite her earnings, Jenner still makes way less than her younger sister Kylie Jenner, who was named the world's youngest billionaire in March.

The 21-year-old cosmetics mogul, who started the brand Kylie Cosmetics, broke the record previously held by Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who reached billionaire status at just 23 in 2007.
