Jasmine Yarbrough's parents host afternoon tea for loved ones ahead of wedding with Karl Stefanovic

Ahead of their wedding next month, Jasmine Yarbrough and Karl Stefanovic celebrated early with an afternoon tea held at Yarbrough's parents' home in Ascot, Brisbane, on Sunday afternoon.

The relaxed family affair, hosted by Yarbrough's mother Cheryl, a primary school teacher, and father Bobby, a surf lifesaver, was held in part because Yarbrough's beloved grandmother, Mrs Isabel Hollingworth, will not be able to travel overseas for the wedding, and Yarbrough didn't want her to miss out on the fun. Still, the 92-year-old was in great spirits during the afternoon tea, and stole the limelight from the soon-to-be-married couple.

In photos shared from the day, Mara & Mine designer Yarbrough -- who wore a printed Thurley dress -- can be seen laughing and celebrating with many of her loved ones, which included Stefanovic's sister, Elisa, and her future sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys. Other women in her life who were in attendance included her sister, Jade, and business partner Tamie Ingham. Yarbrough's bridesmaids -- all friends she went to school with in Brisbane -- also joined the festivities.

It was a thrill for Yarbrough, 34, to enjoy this time with her family as they're all incredibly close.

And there was one last-minute surprise addition to the afternoon tea: Stefanovic, 44, who originally hadn't planned on attending but made a spontaneous appearance later in the day, to the pleasant surprise of Yarbrough's grandmother.

The TODAY host cosied up to Mrs Hollingworth for a sweet photo.

Yarbrough and Stefanovic will tie the knot in Mexico next month.

The happy couple confirmed the news of their engagement to 9Honey Celebrity in February this year.

"When Jasmine came into my life, I had no thoughts of new love or the future, but we are happy and grateful we found each other," said Stefanovic.
