Kanye West responds to Kim Kardashian's divorce filing, requests joint custody of kids

Kanye West has filed a response to Kim Kardashian's divorce filing two months ago.

The 'Stronger' rapper, 43, has requested joint legal and physical custody of their children, according to court documents obtained by multiple outlets.

The exes share four kids: North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three and Psalm, one.

The SKIMS founder also requested joint custody in her February 19 divorce filing.

Kardashian cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, but didn't cite a date of separation.

Neither party requested spousal support from the other. Kardashian was recently named a billionaire by Forbes. Meanwhile, West is reportedly worth US$6.6 billion (approx. $8.4 billion).

West and Kardashian were believed to have split earlier in the year, with the rapper spending most of his time alone in Wyoming.

It was previously reported that Kardashian hired Laura Wasser to handle her divorce. She also represented the Skims founder when she divorced Kris Humphries after their 72-day marriage.

"Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot," a source previously told Page Six of their split after seven years of marriage. "She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile, Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s--t, and she's just had enough of it."

Meanwhile, Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner recently appeared on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, saying her only hope is that the exes are happy.

"Well, I think it's always going to be hard anytime ... there's a lot of kids, and [for] Kim and Kanye," Jenner told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson.

"The good thing about our family is that we are there for each other and supportive, so all I want is for those two kids to be happy ... That's all you want as a mum."
