There is 'no reason to be concerned' about Johnny Depp's shocking appearance
Johnny Depp found himself back in the news over the weekend when fans expressed concerns about his health, after photos showed the actor looking gaunt and noticeably thinner than usual.
The photos circulated after the 54-year-old star took photos with fans in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he's been touring with his band The Hollywood Vampires. Fans then uploaded them to social media.
"I think that my hero looks ill," a fan commented on one of the photos.
"He looks thin," another commented.
Some couldn't even believe that the celebrity in the photo was Depp.
However, despite the flood of comments about Depp's appearance, a source told E! News that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor is "healthy" and that "there is no reason to be concerned."
Meanwhile, another source disclosed to HollywoodLife that Depp's look is intentional. "Friends are very much concerned over the recent look that Johnny has been showing but he is telling them all that this is the look that he is going for with the band," the source said.
"Everything he does is a role and again he is stressing to friends and bandmates that this is how he wants to look for the band. It's his rock star look. It's also his homage to one of his idols Keith Richards."
And another source told People, "Johnny is having a great time on the tour playing with the guys."
So, based on multiple sources, there's no need to be alarmed about Depp's appearance.
Depp is currently touring around Europe with the band, which includes rock legends Alice Cooper and Joe Perry (from Aerosmith).
