John Stamos has no regrets over tell-all book detailing bitter divorce
John Stamos has no regrets over sharing details of his painful split from Rebecca Romijn in his 2023 memoir.
Stamos, 61, has spoken about his choice one year after the book's release. He admits to panicking after the book came out.
"The week that it came out, I called my publicist and I was crying. I'm like, 'What did I do?'" Stamos told Us Weekly

The Full House star said he later realised he needed to share his story in order to move on.
"And this saying came to me: anything less than the truth is paralysis … I know it sounds corny, but it sets you free," he said.

Recording the audio book was even more difficult for the actor, who described it as "very emotional and very difficult", but once again "very cathartic."
"You're in this little booth, almost like a confessional or something," he told the publication.

In the book, Stamos detailed the breakdown of his 10-year relationship with the actress and model, 51.
The couple were married in 1998 and divorced in 2005.
He alluded to an affair in the book, writing: "She smiles at me a little less, doesn't look me in the eyes over dinner, takes phone calls in the other room.
"Betrayal starts as a sinking feeling in your stomach, grows into a suspicion that clouds your every thought, and by the time you find out the truth, it's uniquely horrible at first but also expected, like you've been waiting for something bad to happen."

Stamos told People he "hated her" for years but later came to realise he too contributed to their split.
Romijn told ET she was "blindsided" by the claims made in the book.
"I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked actually," she said.

"But you know, I don't really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that's all I really want to say about it."
Romijn went on to marry actor Jerry O'Connell.
They tied the knot in 2007, the following year welcoming twin girls, Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose, 15.

Stamos married wife Caitlin McHugh in 2018.
The couple has a son, Billy, six.
