It's been a huge 10 months for fans of Australian rock band Jet, and it's only going to get more massive from here.

That's according to an announcement from the band themselves, who revealed this morning they've begun working on a new full-length album, set to come out next year.

"It's time… we're pretty excited to tell you that we're working on a new Jet album, due for release in 2025," the band said in a statement.

The announcement comes weeks before they're scheduled to head out on the road for their national 20 Years Of Get Born tour, with its second leg kicking off in Torquay, Victoria on May 9.

Jet also said in the statement: "As a little taste of what's to come, we're putting out a limited edition 7" vinyl single for our fans, the song is called Hurry Hurry."

Hurry Hurry is only available for physical release at this stage.

Jet's upcoming album will be their first in more than 15 years, following on from Shaka Rock, the LP released in 2009.

The band notably announced in June they'd be reuniting to mark two decades since the release of their debut album, with their 20 Years Of Get Born tour first kicking off in September.

It was the band's first set of shows in half a decade, and saw them perform the hits that made them a household name in Australia – including Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Look What You've Done and Get Me Outta Here.

Jet first formed in 2001, and disbanded in 2012.

They reunited in 2017 briefly for headline shows and to support Bruce Springsteen, and then again in 2018 to tour for Get Born's 15th anniversary.

In November, they were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
