Jessica Simpson mum-shamed after sharing video of injured four-year-old son

Jessica Simpson was taken to task by some of her Instagram followers after posting a video of her son's injured arm while he did a backflip in a swimming pool.

The singer-turned fashion mogul, 37, shared a Instagram video of son Ace Knute, 4, being thrust high into the air by his father Eric Johnson, 38, and performing an incredible backflip before plunging into the water. The little boy was sporting a lime green cast on his arm after recently breaking it.

"A broken bone doesn't hold this kiddo down #waterproofcast#ACEKNUTE," Simpson captioned the video.

Some followers lashed out in the comments, suggesting Simpson had put her son in danger and could have potentially aggravated his recent injury.

"Pretty stupid, thanks for showing everyone how ignorant you guys are," one follower commented.

"Wow, no wonder the kid has a broken arm," another wrote.

"This doesn’t seem very smart to me but then again I know the difference between chicken and tuna," added another, referring to Simpson's iconic gaffe from her Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica days.

But others came to the 'With You' singer's defense.

"Good for him! 2 of my kids had broken arms and we didn't have the option for waterproof casts! So glad he gets to keep being a kid!" wrote one fan.

Another added that Simpson and Johnson shouldn't "let the naysayers get to you! You two are great parents!"

Wrote another: "How fun!! Love your parenting style. Your children are lucky to have you."

Just days before Simpson, who also has daughter Drew Maxwell, 6, with Johnson, first shared a shot of Ace's cast while the little boy smiled brightly in a hospital room.

She captioned the image: "This kid is breaking more than hearts these days #FirstBrokenBone #ICriedMoreThanHeDid#ACEKNUTE."

This isn't the first time Simpson has faced backlash over her parenting style. In April, a number of her Instagram followers called a photo of Maxwell in a tracksuit and striking a sassy pose "inappropriate" because her hand was perched on her hip.
