Isla Fisher reveals major dating blunder two years after Sacha Baron Cohen split
Isla Fisher has returned to the dating world more than two years after separating from Sacha Baron Cohen, and it hasn’t been smooth sailing.
The Now You See Me actress, 50, confessed a totally harmless act by a man she’d been dating turned her off him completely.
Isla Fisher has revealed her latest dating ‘ick’ in a rare social media appearance. Instagram/@happyhouroverheard
“His dog ran away and he chased his dog, but instead of chasing upright, he ran low with his hands outstretched – like a cartoon,” she told Overheard Happy Hour in an appearance with her Spa Weekend co-stars.
“By the time he caught the dog, he had lost the p---y.”
Her co-stars couldn’t believe what they were hearing, especially Anna Faris, who looked utterly scandalised.
Fisher said she had really liked the man, but that stunt had given her the “ick” so badly that she couldn’t see him the same afterwards.
This is the first time the Australian actress has offered fans an insight into her love life after Baron Cohen.
Fisher was married to the man behind Borat and Ali G for 14 years before they announced their split in April 2024.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” they shared in statements posted to Instagram.
"In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage."

Their divorce was finalised in June 2025 and it’s understood they continue to co-parent their three children, Olive, 18, and Elula, 16, and Montgomery, 11.
Though their divorce came as a shock at the time, the former spouses have remained amicable in public.
Baron Cohen shared a tribute to his ex-wife on Instagram in February to mark her milestone 50th birthday, calling her “the funniest, most joyful person, a brilliant talent, and a fantastic mum”.
It hasn’t always been easy for the pair to navigate their new lives apart.
Fisher admitted she struggled when she left the home she and Baron Cohen shared in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and moved to London to start fresh.
When the furniture for her new pad arrived, she broke down in tears.
“I definitely feel like there’s something about the divorce club that anyone in it understands in a way other people don’t. It’s a different grief,” Fisher told New Beauty Magazine late last year.
But she has found new joys in the journey as well, from funny dating stories to making more time for herself.
“There are lots of positives that have come about from all this, like self-exploration and just trying to be kind to myself.”
