Hunger Games 2.0? Nicole Trunfio exposes ribs on shocking <i>Maxim</i> cover

Uh-oh! We've managed to get our hands on the latest issue of Maxim magazine before it hits the stands… and we're pretty shocked by Nicole Trunfio's exposed ribs on the cover.

Stripped down to a pair of leather knickers, the scantily-clad super's bony contortions have sparked controversial chit-chat about Trunfio at TheFIX HQ...with the team agreeing that the latest shoot is a far cry from Nicole's healthy Insta-snaps.

Also, in the mag, the 28-year-old supermodel talks about her "love for getting dirty" despite her uber-conservative family… before telling Maxim about how much she enjoys going home for Italian Christmas dinners.

She said: "When I go back home to WA, I basically drink a lot of my dad's homemade wine, eat his homemade pasta and Italian salami." Could she just have a killer metabolism? We hope so.

This isn't the first time the high-fash model's copped criticism about her weight… slamming eating disorder rumours in 2011.

"It's in my genes," she said. "My mum is skinny, I don't starve myself… I am very healthy and eat well."

We're thinking these shots are a bit worrying though!
